About This Role
Vis-Ideal Concept Limited—a facility management firm providing maintenance solutions across Nigeria—is recruiting a Facility Technician for its operations in Ibadan, Oyo State. Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, this full-time role is responsible for hands-on preventive and corrective facility maintenance, including power generator monitoring, diesel logistics, electrical repairs, HVAC servicing, plumbing, water system maintenance, and minor carpentry.
Key Responsibilities
- Generator & Fuel Management: Perform daily generator inspections (oil levels, radiator fluids, battery health); supervise fuel deliveries, verify quality/quantity, manage diesel transfers, track consumption, and log reports twice weekly.
- Electrical & Power Systems: Monitor inverters, solar panels, control rooms, and prepaid utility meters; replace light bulbs, troubleshoot minor electrical issues, and optimize energy management.
- HVAC & Cooling Systems: Perform daily air conditioner inspections, execute quarterly servicing, carry out gas refilling, and handle AC repairs.
- Plumbing & Water Systems: Inspect water pumps, riser pipes, and overhead storage tanks thrice daily; manage water pumping, conduct weekly backwashing of water treatment filters, perform monthly tank washing, execute annual borehole servicing, and repair pipe leaks/blockages.
- Carpentry & Structural Maintenance: Inspect and unblock floor/roof drains; manage minor carpentry repairs (door handles, cylinder locks, cabinet hinges, drawer keys, broken glass, and ceiling tiles).
- Vendor Coordination & Reporting: Coordinate third-party vendors for specialized maintenance, negotiate prices, review completed works, prepare weekly facility activity logs, and process invoices with finance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience & Technical Skills: Proven practical experience as a Facility Technician, Handyman, or Maintenance Officer in a commercial or residential facility.
- Core Disciplines: Basic technical competency in electrical troubleshooting, generator maintenance, basic plumbing, AC repair, and minor carpentry.
- Soft Skills: Problem-solving ability, reliability, capability to draft basic activity reports, and strong vendor supervision skills.
