Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Veterinary Technician (or Certified Veterinary Technician) to join our team. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor anesthesia for surgical and dental procedures, including patient preparation, induction, maintenance, and recovery
- Accurately obtain and record patient histories and vital signs
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and laboratory sample collection
- Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Properly position pets and obtain radiographs
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
- Provide client education on treatments, medications, and preventive care
- Ensure proper patient restraint and handling for safety of staff and animals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment and surgical areas
Requirements:
- 2 years experience as a veterinary technician
- Proven ability to safely monitor anesthesia is required
- Strong technical skills including phlebotomy and catheter placement
- Reliable transportation is required
- Consistent attendance and reliability are essential; excessive call-offs will not be tolerated
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes
Pay: $19.00 – $24.00 per hour
