Walden Animal Clinic is looking for a NYS Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our two-doctor, full-service animal hospital. We are always learning and advancing our medical procedures to provide the most up to date and high quality medicine to our patients. Our Veterinary Technicians play an important role in providing excellent medical care to our patients and customer service to our clients.
We are looking for an experienced technician; however, we will consider mentoring a new graduate that shows the willingness to learn and has confidence in their abilities.
Most importantly, the candidate must be compassionate towards our patients and their owners and have excellent communication skills. Being a small, privately owned facility we have the benefit of truly becoming a part of our client’s lives and will only consider a candidate that is looking to make these long term connections.
Responsibilities
Provide compassionate care to animals and assist veterinarians in examinations and treatments.
Perform blood sampling, animal catheterization, and restraint techniques.
Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with pet owners.
Handle and care for animals, ensuring their comfort and safety during procedures.
Utilize veterinary terminology and knowledge of animal anatomy to assist in diagnostics and treatments.
Support dental care and perform laboratory tests as needed.
