Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to animals while assisting the veterinarian in various clinical procedures. Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Monitor animal health and behavior, noting any changes or concerns.
Provide animal restraint during examinations and procedures to ensure safety for both the animal and staff.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Proficient in dog and cat handling techniques to ensure safe interactions with pets.
Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively within the team.
Experience in animal restraint methods to facilitate examinations and treatments.
Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices for emergency situations.
Understanding of animal physiology to assess health conditions accurately.
Ability to provide compassionate animal care while ensuring comfort during treatments.
Experience working in a kennel environment is a plus, enhancing overall animal handling skills.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and team members.
