Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the technical skills necessary to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to pets. This role involves a variety of tasks, including patient care, laboratory work, and client communication, all aimed at ensuring the health and well-being of our animal patients.
Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze samples.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall health status.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and grooming.
Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection.
Provide support in dental procedures and understand dental terminology.
Engage in pet grooming and basic dog training as needed.
Ensure that the veterinary facility is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
Familiarity with laboratory techniques and equipment used in veterinary medicine.
Ability to perform critical care tasks under pressure.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
Compassionate attitude towards animals with a commitment to their care.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is highly desirable.
