We are looking for a strong candidate with a happy personality to learn about and work with animals. Animal caretakers provide daily care, feeding, cleaning and exercise of boarding and hospitalized pets. We are a full-service hospital which includes medical care and surgery, dentistry, boarding and grooming. We need a veterinary assistant who is interested in working in all fields assisting both the technicians. receptionists and doctors while also maintaining hospital sanitation. He or she pays close attention to pets’ status such as signs of stress and changes in eating or elimination habits, promptly notifying technicians and veterinarians when a pet needs medical attention. A veterinary assistant must pay close attention to details, understand and follow proper feeding and sanitation procedures and monitor boarding and hospitalized pets.
This is a fast paced job that requires heavy lifting, bending, walking and being on your feet most of the day. Hospitals cleanliness and sanitation, as well as animal comfort and health are priorities of the job. You will be cross trained to work in different positions and weekend availability required. Client services, office procedures and client communication is also involved.
Must be willing to work weekends and evening shifts. Compensation negotiable and dependent on experience.
