Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, compassionate, responsible, detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and work well on a team. You should be passionate about providing high-quality healthcare and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Assist veterinarians with various medical procedures, including monitoring anesthesia, surgical prep, and post-operative care.
- Prepare and restrain animals for procedures.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
- Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement with precision and care.
- Take digital radiographs accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct in-house laboratory tests and ensure accuracy in reporting results.
- Educate clients on pet health and answer questions knowledgeably.
- Assist in maintaining patient records and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with the general care and comfort of animals in the clinic.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to educate clients effectively.
- Proficiency in using veterinary software and computer systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes emotionally charged environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes.
