About us:
Alliance Equine Health Care is an equine only, completely ambulatory practice. While we do have a “home base” office, most of our days are spent outside at the farms with our wonderful patients. Additionally, we are fortunate to have some of the best clients you could ask for anywhere! We are available for scheduled appointments Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm. Our vets are also available for on-call after hours, weekend, and holiday emergencies for our patients. Our goal is to provide gold standard care to every patient, from the high-end show ponies to the retired lawn ornaments. We believe they all deserve the best possible care that we can give.
About you (and the job):
Our future teammate will be an exceptional horseperson who is comfortable handling any breed, age, gender, and temperament of equine. (Yes, all equines – we mean donkeys as well as horses, from the sweet and the spicy.) They will have a heated vest and/or hardy jacket to prevent them from turning into an icicle during the winter farm calls and good, breathable t-shirts to prevent melting in summer. They will also have a sturdy pair of boots to be able to jog patients for lameness exams and enough muscle to regularly heft up to 50lbs. Another plus would be previous veterinary experience, but this is not required. As long as our future person is willing to learn, we are willing to teach! Our future teammate must also like having the entire weekend off; our veterinary assistants work from approximately 7:30am to 5:30pm (10 hours), 1-4 days during the week depending on part-time or full-time status . Our assistants are not required to go on calls after 5pm or on weekends or holidays, so don’t worry about that!
