ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Currently searching for multiple student assistants to provide safety and handling support for equine handling labs. The student assistant will provide support under the supervision of Holly Greene, lead handler for these weekend AVMA equine labs.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
The part-time student assistants hired for this position will provide safety and handling skills to novice students participating in AVMA equine these labs. This includes haltering, leading, grooming, TPR’s, leg bandage and oral medication administration. These labs are held either Friday or Saturday for a total of 8 hours, during all types of outside temperatures. Approximately 15 labs are held each year with 2 student assistants per lab.
Students will also be hired to provide support to AVS/AHS academic labs held during the normal semester schedules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Students must be Animal Science Pre-Vet Major or Animal Health Science Major, minimum GPA of 3.2. Horse experience is desired but not required.
