Summit Equine Reproduction Veterinary Assistant Job Description:
Summit Equine is looking for a motivated and hardworking individual to assist our Reproduction team! Certification or previous work experience is preferred, but not required. This is a full time/hourly position with the opportunity for overtime and health benefits. Some weekends may be necessary. Please forward your cover letter and resume to [email protected].
As a Reproduction Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play an important role in maintaining appointments, updating patient medical records and updating clients. Key responsibilities for this role are to prioritize tasks and adhere to a timely schedule while working cohesively as a team to accomplish tasks. Heavy attention to detail paired with strong communication skills and follow through are vital to this position. We’ll rely on you to assist the Veterinarians during examinations, prep, entering records and invoicing accurately. Duties:
– Entering medical records and invoicing
– Assisting veterinarians with medical procedures; holding/restraining horses for exams/palpations, set up and take down of medical equipment, handling and assisting in stallion collections, handling mares and foals, foaling as needed, etc.
– Administering medications; IV, IM, and oral
– Stocking medication, medical supplies and monitoring inventory
– Main point of contact for client communications, including scheduling appointments and updating clients
– Maintaining daily organization, workflow and adhering to timelines
– Ability to lift, push, and pull items that weigh 50+ Lbs.
Job Requirements:

– Relative work experience or certification preferred, but not required
– Maintain positive attitude under stressful situations
– Comprehensive computer knowledge and skills
– 1-year minimum of consistent horse handling or large livestock experience
– Must be able to work in the U.S. and present a valid driver’s license
– High School Diploma or GED required
– Certificate from as accredited Veterinary Assistant program is preferred, but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour
