Details
Alternate Development Services (ADS), Islamabad, is seeking an experienced Energy Transition Officer to lead its initiatives on alternative and renewable energy transition. The role involves corporate engagement, research, policy advocacy, and project leadership to help corporates shift from fossil-powered energy to renewable and sustainable energy sources.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement green strategies and business plans, overseeing environmental initiatives.
- Research Pakistan’s energy mix, document energy consumption, and track progress toward RE100 commitments by 2030.
- Negotiate and propose sustainable energy solutions for corporates, particularly in food & beverage, textiles, sports, and banking sectors.
- Ensure corporate green initiatives align with business strategies and improve profitability.
- Advocate for green energy adoption and communicate its benefits to clients and consumers.
- Lead projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and minimizing environmental degradation.
- Manage and nurture the Green Corporate Coalition (GCC) and participate in similar network groups.
- Coordinate with government ministries, departments, and NGOs on renewable energy initiatives.
- Collect, analyze, and document research data; prepare reports, briefs, and policy recommendations.
- Identify business opportunities and assist in proposal development.
- Perform other project-related tasks as assigned by the Chief Executive and Project Manager.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Energy Economics, Energy Governance & Management, Environmental & Climate Sciences, Electrical/Energy Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience in alternative energy promotion, energy transition campaigns, and corporate lobbying.
- Strong research skills in alternative energy, environmental conservation, GHG inventories, carbon footprinting, and data analysis.
- Logical, analytical, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Ability to manage, document, and report on project progress, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in primary and secondary data collection, analysis, and reporting.
