Carolina Veterinary Specialists is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join our team in Winston-Salem, NC. The position offers a challenging and complex medical and surgical environment, fostering skill growth. It features a fair, rotating schedule of approximately 12 shifts per month, including some daytime hours, with excellent compensation and benefits. Our emergency doctors collaborate closely with specialists and are highly valued within our hospital team.
The Winston-Salem hospital provides a relaxed, collaborative work environment with a team comprising seven emergency doctors, two boarded internists, one boarded surgeon, and two boarded neurologists. Our sister hospital in Greensboro offers additional consultation in radiology, oncology, and ophthalmology. This role is ideal for honing surgical and diagnostic skills, with a schedule supporting a healthy work/life balance and compensation exceeding typical general practice jobs.
We support high-quality veterinary medicine through on-site access to advanced facilities, including:
Snyder Intensive Care Units (4 patients)
In-house laboratory (Heska, IDEXX, e-POC, coagulation)
Surgi Vet Multi-Parameter monitoring systems
Three Toshiba high-resolution ultrasound machines, including ER FAST scan
24-hour care & hospitalization
Digital radiograph
New 1.5 Tesla GE MRI scanner
New 128-slice CT Scanner
2019 Varian Linear Accelerator with SRT and IMRT
Endoscopy, fiber otic & bronchoscopy
CUBEX Inventory Management System
We offer a minimum annual base salary of $175,000 plus bonuses and a generous sign-on bonus.
