Job Description
Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital is seeking qualified candidates for the position of ECC Veterinary Assistant. This position provides support to clinical faculty, staff and veterinary students in the Small Animal Clinic of the hospital. Duties include assisting with basic nursing procedures, maintaining supplies, cleaning and disinfecting daily, assisting in restraining and manipulation of patients, and other duties as directed by supervisor and faculty.
Required Qualifications
Experience in a veterinary medical setting, preferably in emergency/intensive care.
Strong knowledge of basic nursing skills and CPR
Ability to assist with advanced veterinary technician skills such as central venous line placement, urinary catheterization, and monitoring blood transfusion
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Enrollment in or interest in enrolling in a veterinary technician program, with tuition reimbursement opportunities available.
