We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual with a passion for dogs to add to our team. This person must have at least 1 year experience in dog handling, whether from another boarding/daycare facility, vet practice, dog training environment, rescue, etc. Another attribute we are looking for is experience involving employee leadership and/or training other employees.
Responsibilities:
– Provide daily care for dogs in our facility, including feeding, watering, and exercising. Ensuring all dogs are HAPPY, HEALTHY AND SAFE!
– Executing the daily routine with the dogs, which includes cleaning and sanitizing kennels, playrooms and common areas.
– Monitoring and organizing play groups based on our policies
– Monitor the health and behavior of the dogs in our care and clearly communicate issues to supervisor and fellow staff.
– Prep and administer meals and medications.
– Interact with clients and provide excellent welcoming customer service whether in person, over the phone or through email.
– Manage client check ins and check outs for all departments, which includes handling money transactions accurately and responsibly (credit cards, cash, checks).
– Keep front desk area organized and prepped for next day arrivals in boarding and grooming.
– Overseeing the flow of the shift (delegating or assigning tasks if needed to others and yourself)
– Training Staff (new hires or staff progressing to new responsibilities).
Experience:
– Previous experience working with and handling many different breed and temperaments of dogs is required.
– Knowledge in playgroup management and reading dog behaviors
– Use of proper tools and techniques to handle and restrain dogs safely and compassionately.
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and co-workers.
– Calmly managing a fast paced environment and made on the spot decisions.
– Being a leader but also a team player, meaning having the discipline to delegate tasks to yourself and others to equally distribute work.
– Multi-tasking and taking initiative where appropriate.
– Some knowledge in bathing and nail trimming.
This position is labor intensive (which includes cleaning), applicants must have the ability to lift 50 lbs, be on feet for long periods of time, crouch down or complete task on floor if needed.
Club Pet is open 7 days a week, Monday – Saturday 7am-7pm and Sundays 7am-11am & 3pm-7pm. We are closed to the public on major holidays, however we do require staff to come in on scheduled shifts to take care of our dogs boarding with us. In this industry weekends and holidays are our busiest times, any applicants must understand that and have availability.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
