Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing support in a kennel environment. This role involves ensuring the health and safety of pets while maintaining a clean and organized facility. The Kennel Attendant will work closely with animals of various breeds and sizes, assisting in their daily care and well-being.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other facilities to ensure a safe environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
Assist with animal restraint during grooming or medical procedures as needed.
Support pet training efforts by reinforcing positive behaviors.
Help with the administration of medications as directed by veterinary staff.
Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being and answer any questions they may have.
Participate in team meetings to discuss animal care protocols and improvements.
Skills
Attendant or in a Kennel setting is preferred.
Knowledge of Pet Grooming techniques is beneficial.
Familiarity with Animal Restraint methods to ensure safety during handling.
Basic understanding of Dog Training principles is a plus.
Ability to perform Heavy Lifting when necessary (up to 50 pounds).
Background in Veterinary practices or as a Veterinary Technician is advantageous.
Experience in Pet Sitting can enhance understanding of animal behavior and needs.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and pet owners.

Pay: $11.50 – $12.00 per hour
