We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all animals receive the highest standard of care while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
- Assist with animal restraint and handling during grooming or veterinary procedures when necessary.
- Support pet owners with customer service inquiries, providing information about services offered.
Requirements
- Previous experience in veterinary/kennel facility settings or animal handling is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of pet care practices, including feeding schedules and exercise routines.
- Ability to handle various breeds of dogs and other animals safely and compassionately.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting animals and cleaning kennels throughout the day.
