Job Opportunity: Experienced Dog Kennel Attendant at Animal Shelter
We are seeking a dedicated Dog and Cat Kennel Attendants to join our team at JSAC. If you have a passion for animal care and experience working in a shelter/and or kennel environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Care for and handle dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including untrained dogs.
Care for and handle domestic cats
Perform heavy cleaning duties inside and outside the kennel (for dogs) , in all weather conditions.
Feed, exercise, and maintain the well-being of dogs.
Feed and maintain the well-being of cats.
Provide general upkeep of kennel areas, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
Dog Kennel: Assist with dog training and behavior management as needed.
Engage with the public, including potential adopters, and provide excellent customer service.
Work Sundays, Mondays, and holidays, as these are required shifts.
Qualifications:
Prior experience with large dog breeds is a plus.
Must be physically capable of handling all breeds of dogs.
Must be physically capable of handling domestic cats.
Previous experience in a shelter or kennel setting, dog training, or ACO certification is highly desirable.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
Strong communication and social skills to interact with the public and team members.
Schedule:
Part/Full time available. Must be available to work Sundays, Mondays, and holidays. Hourly wage based on experience.
