About Radimal

Radimal is a veterinary radiology and AI company built to make expert imaging faster, friendlier, and more reliable for veterinary teams everywhere. We combine AI-powered insights, board-certified specialists, and a modern clinical platform trusted by ER, GP, and specialty teams across the U.S. and Europe. We've completed over 50,000 specialist consultations and processed more than 500,000 medical images. Our customers are veterinarians who rely on us, around the clock, to get answers for the animals in front of them.

The Role

We're looking for a Director of Clinical Operations who genuinely loves the work of running a real-time, 24/7 service. You'll own the operational core of Radimal — the place where radiologists, clinics, and our internal team meet, and where things have to actually work.

You'll lead our global community of specialists and readers. You'll keep coverage tight across days, nights, and weekends. You'll be in the channels when a STAT light goes off at 2 AM. You'll diagnose the integration error before it becomes a clinic problem. You'll know your radiologists by name, by schedule, by preference. You'll build a team of support staff who become great at this work because of how you train them.

The work matters because every case is a real animal — a 7-year-old retriever whose limp got worse this weekend, an emergency CT that came in at 11 PM, a follow-up the family has been worried about. Your operational excellence is what makes the answers come back fast, right, and with care. That's not marketing. It's why most of our team is here.

Who you'll work with

You'll report directly to our CEO and co-founder. You'll work closely with Sales & Customer Success, Engineering, and the rest of the senior team — small enough that you'll have real relationships with everyone, big enough that what you do shapes how the company operates. Our radiologist community is global, opinionated, and excellent. Many of them have been with Radimal for years.

What you'll do

Run the (virtual) floor.

You're the dependable first responder for everything operational. Schedule gaps, system errors, frustrated readers, anxious clinics — you handle them, route them, or coach your team through them. The pace is fast and the work is hands-on; you find that energizing rather than exhausting.

Build relationships with radiologists. Our specialists are independent contractors who can read anywhere. They choose Radimal because of how we treat them — clarity, consistency, fairness, and being the person who picks up the phone when something matters. You're that person.

Communicate across every level.

One hour you're working with a hospital director on integration setup; the next you're walking a vet tech through how to submit an image; later you're on the phone with a specialist about a STAT case, or with an operations lead about overnight coverage. You shift register easily and meet people where they are — clinical, technical, executive, or hands-on.

Diagnose technical operational issues.

DICOM errors, integration questions, image submission problems, configuration issues. You won't be the engineer — but you'll engage with these directly, understand what's actually happening, and route them to the right person with the right context. You enjoy "what's actually going on here?" more than the comfort of immediate escalation.

Build systems from inside the work.

You notice the patterns that keep recurring — the gap that keeps appearing in Sunday coverage, the integration error that surfaces every few weeks, the question new readers always ask — and turn them into processes, SOPs, and routines that prevent the next instance. You don't see firefighting and systems-building as competing demands. You build the systems by being in the operations, not by stepping away from them.

Lead the support team.

A small team of support staff provides 24/7 coverage. You'll hire, train, develop, and trust them. You'll structure on-call rotations and escalation paths so the company runs around the clock without anyone burning out — including you. Your job is to make them excellent and to make sure they feel set up to succeed.

Work fluently with AI tools.

ChatGPT, Claude, and our internal AI workflows are part of how we run the company. You reach for them naturally to draft messages, analyze data, summarize threads, and troubleshoot — and you build them into your team's habits too. If "I used Claude to draft this and tightened it from there" is something you'd say casually, you'll feel at home.

Own SLA performance.

Near-100% turnaround across a 24/7 operation. You watch the metrics, intervene early, and know what to do when things drift.

Support client onboarding and integrations. Practices come on board across the country and Europe. You make sure their first days go cleanly, that they know us, and that they feel taken care of.

Carry the company at conferences. We have a presence at major veterinary events.

You handle the staffing, scheduling, and logistics so we show up well.

Your first 30 days

• Live in the channels — watch how cases move, how readers communicate, where the friction is

• Have 1:1 introductions with each radiologist on the team (no agenda, just relationship)

• Shadow the support team across a full 24-hour cycle

• Sit in on a few client onboarding conversations with Sales

• By the end of the month, you'll know our top radiologists by personality and preference, the shape of our caseflow, and where the rough edges actually are

What success looks like at six months

• SLAs are routinely met without daily heroics

• Overnight and weekend operations run without founder intervention

• Radiologists describe Radimal as the easiest, fairest, most reliable place to read

• Your support team handles the vast majority of what comes at them; you're the escalation for the rest

• Recurring problems have become systems — the third time something happened, you'd already built the process for the fourth

• New practices onboard smoothly

• Issues get diagnosed before they become escalations

• When you bring something to the CEO, it comes with your read on what to do

You'll thrive here if

• You've spent 5–7 years running real-time service operations — telemedicine, ER coordination, 24/7 customer ops, dispatch, hospital operations, on-call medical, or something with the same texture

• You enjoy being in the work, not just managing it. You like the channels, the calls, the schedule, the phone

• You build systems from inside operations — handling today's issue while noticing what would prevent tomorrow's. You don't need to step away from the work to think; the work is where the thinking happens

• You write well. Your emails are clear and brief; your Slack messages don't waste people's time; people who get your messages know what to do with them

• You're naturally techy. You're comfortable with modern tools, you adopt new ones quickly, and you treat ChatGPT, Claude, and similar as everyday collaborators rather than novelties

• You're comfortable with technical operational details — DICOM, integrations, imaging workflows. You don't need to be an engineer, but you're not allergic to the technical side

• You handle strong personalities well. You can keep a high-performing radiologist feeling supported and respected, while staying clear about what the company can and can't commit to

• You're someone people want to work for. You build teams that get better while they're with you

• You're calm in chaos, decisive within your scope, and clear about when to escalate

• You believe the operational layer is itself important and meaningful — not a stepping stone to something more strategic

Compensation

$150–180k base, plus meaningful equity and benefits. We pay competitively for the level of work, and we keep comp aligned with scope as your role grows.

What we offer

• Real responsibility over the operational core of a fast-growing company

• A senior team that ships, with a CEO you work with directly

• A clearly defined role with the authority to do it well

• Visible impact — when you fix something, the company feels it the same day

• Modern tools at hand, including full access to our data and our internal AI workflows

• A culture that values precision, speed, empathy, and execution

• As Radimal grows, this role grows with it. We promote from within when we can.
