Role Description The Data Science Trainer is a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi. The trainer is responsible for planning and delivering data science lessons, including topics such as statistics, programming, machine learning, and data visualization. Day-to-day tasks include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, conducting lectures and practical sessions, supervising projects and assignments, assessing learner performance, and providing constructive feedback. The role involves mentoring learners, collaborating with other trainers to improve curriculum and teaching strategies, and staying current with data science tools and industry trends to ensure training content remains relevant and up to date.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher with formal training in pedagogy, instruction, or education, and experience in lesson delivery.
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning, curriculum development, and structuring courses for different learner levels.
- Practical experience in data science, including programming (e.g., Python or R), statistics, and machine learning.
- Ability to design and guide hands-on projects, labs, and real-world case studies for diverse learners.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills in a multicultural, inclusive environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
- Experience teaching or training in a college, bootcamp, or professional setting is an added advantage.
