Doctors Assistant/Veterinary Scribe Assistant Manager

Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is seeking a full-time Doctors Assistant/ Veterinary Scribe Assistant Manager to join our skilled and compassionate team in Buzzards Bay, MA.

About this role

The Assistant Doctors Assistant Manager works closely with the Doctors Assistant manager and Medical Director to provide department oversight and team leadership. As an assistant manager, you will contribute to completing the daily tasks of the doctors assistant team and ensure professional and compassionate interactions with clients, coworkers, and referring veterinarians. You will be immersed in a fast-paced and busy environment while supporting your team of doctor assistants both at work and in the administrative setting.

As a specialty referral and emergency hospital, we are involved with many aspects of veterinary care, from saving lives to ongoing long-term treatment, and you will experience the rewards and challenges that this will bring.

Duties include:

DA tasks, including

Inputting and maintaining patient records
Supporting doctors and clients in medical visits
Promoting patient flow to minimize client wait times and increase overall efficiency.
Communicate effectively with the referring veterinarians and hospitals in the community.
Patient discharges
Scheduling team members to ensure coverage at all times, reviewing time-sheets, and approving PTO requests
Mentoring and training team members, and conducting performance reviews to set goals
Attending and contributing to management meetings
Promoting and following policies and protocols of the hospital

Help maintain hospital flow and communication with Doctors Assistants and other departments

Qualifications:

Experience in a leadership/management role is required

More than one year of experience in the veterinary hospital as a technician, liaison, or CCA, or equivalent experience in human medicine
Sufficient computer experience (Word, Excel) and the ability to learn various veterinary software programs
Outstanding customer service skills
Professional-level typing skills
Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks appropriately
Excellent clear communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Must be flexible and willing to fill in shifts.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand on your feet for long periods

Schedule, and Benefits Include (but are not limited to)
$26.00/hour
Sign-on bonus up to $2,500
The schedule includes days, evenings, weekends, and a holiday shift rotation
The initial training schedule may differ.
