One Frio is a young, fast-growing network in temperature-controlled food logistics — formed by bringing together strong family businesses across the Netherlands and Ireland (Grolleman Coldstore, Nedcool, Coenen Boxmeer, and McCulla and Granville in Ireland). We provide reliable cold storage, warehousing, order picking, transport and end-to-end logistics for food products. The Role
Customs and bonded warehousing sit right at the centre of where we’re going. We’re looking for a Customs & Trade Lead to grow into the role. You’ll build the customs function for a multi-country platform from scratch: licences, compliance architecture, and the commercial side of customs services across the group. You’ll work directly with the CEO and with the commercial and operational leads across the group, with a real budget and external customs advisors behind you on the high-stakes calls. We care more about drive and judgement than about years on a CV. If you have two to four years in customs, trade compliance, or bonded warehousing, you learn fast, and you want a role where you own the outcome and build something that lasts, we would love to hear from you.
What you will do
You’ll build the customs function for a multi-country platform from scratch – licences, compliance architecture, and the commercial side of customs services across the group.
- Licences and permits. Secure and maintain bonded warehouse authorisations across the group, drive AEO-C certification at OpCo level, and manage Article 23 fiscal representation and transit guarantees.
- Build the compliance backbone. Build the customs playbook across the platform — SOPs, documentation, internal controls, audit readiness — train operational teams at site level, and work directly with Douane, HMRC and Irish Revenue.
- Make customs commercial. Help productise bonded storage, fiscal representation, T1/T2 handling and declaration markups, set pricing with the commercial team, and support rollout to customs-sensitive clients across the platform.
- Build the partner network. Build a curated broker panel by commodity — produce, meat, dairy, seafood, veterinary — and manage contracts, SLAs and referral flow.
What you will bring
- 2–4 years in customs, trade compliance, bonded warehousing or freight forwarding, with hands-on experience on at least one bonded warehouse or AEO process
- Real interest in EU customs, bonded warehousing and cross-border trade, with the drive to become the group’s go-to expert within 12 months
- Comfortable owning problems end to end, moving fast, and learning under real deadlines
- Fluent in English and Dutch
Nice to have (not required, we will teach the rest)
- Familiarity with the EU Union Customs Code, bonded warehouse authorisations, AEO-C or Article 23
- Cross-border experience across the Netherlands, Ireland and the UK
- Cold chain or perishables exposure
- Track record of building a process from scratch
