Overview

Urgent Care Veterinary Partners is looking for a dedicated, compassionate Customer Service/Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role is primarily client-facing, with a secondary focus on hands-on veterinary technician support as needed. It’s a great fit for someone who combines strong customer service skills with a genuine interest in animal care, and who wants to grow their veterinary experience in a fast-paced, pet-centered environment.

Responsibilities

Client & Front-of-House

  • Communicate with clients about pet care instructions, treatment plans, and behavioral concerns
  • Maintain accurate records of medical histories, treatments, medications administered, and procedures performed
  • Support a welcoming, organized front-of-house experience for clients and their pets

Animal Care & Technician Support

  • Provide day-to-day animal care — feeding, grooming, and keeping kennels and treatment areas clean
  • Handle dogs and cats with patience and proper restraint techniques, prioritizing safety for animals and staff
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with clinical procedures (IV placement, restraint, catheterization, medication administration)
  • Support surgical procedures, including patient prep, anesthesia monitoring, and in-surgery assistance
  • Monitor animal behavior, health, and welfare throughout their stay
  • Follow safety protocols, including PPE use and infection control
  • Maintain sanitation standards, including equipment sterilization

Experience

  • Kennel experience or animal handling background highly desirable
  • Veterinary technician experience or related clinic experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of veterinary terminology, surgical procedures, medication administration, and recordkeeping
  • Experience in veterinary critical care or emergency settings a plus
  • Strong understanding of animal behavior and physiology for safe, effective handling
  • Excellent communication skills — able to explain pet health needs to clients clearly and empathetically
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing attention to detail
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays — this role covers UCVP’s after-hours/urgent care schedule

Join our team dedicated to advancing animal health through compassionate care and exceptional client service!
