UNON is the UN headquarters in Africa, supporting UNEP, UN-Habitat, and other UN offices in Kenya through administrative, conference, and information services.
This role is based in Joint Medical Services (JMS) under the Division of Administrative Services (HRMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group psychological counselling (in-person and virtual).
- Deliver psychosocial support, including hospital visits and crisis intervention.
- Conduct psychological assessments, referrals, and follow-ups.
- Provide Psychological First Aid (PFA), grief and bereavement counselling.
- Support Employee Assistance Programmes, including substance misuse interventions.
- Deliver mission preparedness, post-mission debriefs, and pre-retirement counselling.
- Develop and deliver psychoeducation and mental health awareness training.
- Support HIV/AIDS counselling and post-pandemic recovery initiatives.
- Contribute to workplace crisis management and JMS multidisciplinary activities.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant professional experience
- Education: Master’s degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
- Languages:English – Fluent (required)
- French – Working knowledge (desirable)
Skills & Experience
- Clinical practice experience post-Master’s degree.
- Training in trauma, substance abuse, stress management, or related areas.
- Experience in international and multicultural environments.
- Experience providing virtual and in-person psychosocial support.
