About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day execution of construction projects and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The successful candidate will play a critical role in coordinating site activities, supervising subcontractors, managing resources, monitoring progress, and maintaining accurate project records to support the successful delivery of projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Execution & Progress Monitoring
- Manage and supervise daily site operations to ensure work is executed according to approved plans and specifications.
- Prepare and maintain daily site diaries and progress reports.
- Develop and monitor short-term look-ahead programmes (1 to 3 weeks).
- Verify completed works against construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Measure and confirm quantities executed on site for valuation and progress tracking.
- Monitor site productivity and progress against approved project schedules.
- Prepare project meeting minutes and maintain action trackers.
Technical & Quality Management
- Ensure accurate setting-out of works, including levels, alignments, and dimensions.
- Conduct site inspections and maintain quality assurance and quality control records.
- Monitor workmanship standards and compliance of materials used on site.
- Verify works prior to consultant and client inspections.
- Prepare and manage snag lists and defect tracking registers.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with technical specifications and quality requirements.
Resource, Material & Logistics Coordination
- Prepare material requisitions and coordinate resource requirements with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor.
- Work closely with storekeepers to monitor material receipts, usage, and stock levels.
- Coordinate subcontractor schedules, attendance, and work performance.
- Liaise with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment required for project execution.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Lead daily toolbox talks and maintain attendance records.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on site.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Investigate and report incidents, hazards, and near misses.
- Monitor environmental compliance and implement corrective measures where required.
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare and submit weekly site progress reports to the Project Manager.
- Provide early warnings on potential delays, risks, resource constraints, and scope changes.
- Maintain accurate site records to support valuations, variations, and contractual claims.
- Prepare subcontractor payment valuations for review and approval.
- Immediately escalate issues that may impact project quality, safety, cost, or programme performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Survey, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in site supervision or construction management.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, quality control, and site operations.
- Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements within the construction industry.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction-related reporting tools.
