Job Context
WAVE Foundation is a civil society organization established in 1990, implementing activities to promote socio-economic development for poor and marginalized communities and advocating for universal human rights and good governance through issue-based campaigns. The organization has structured its activities under five major programs, which include 1. Microfinance 2. Agroecology Focused Agri-Food System Transformation 3. Governance, Rights and Justice 4. Climate Justice and Renewable Energy Promotion and 5. Community Development and Youth Empowerment. The organization invites applications from potential candidates for the position of Community Facilitator of ‘BD Beef and Goat Value Chain Signature Program’ Project at Rajshahi Division funded by HEIFER International Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist to develop capacity of the cooperative management committee on leadership skills, financial management, business management, conflict management and negotiation skills, planning, staffing, organizing, monitoring etc.
- Assist in preparing annual and strategic plan for Cooperative and ensure execution.
- Facilitate training and workshop with Cooperative and different stakeholders and ensure quality of training.
- Reinforce the Heifer’s Cornerstones at Cooperative and facilitate periodic PSRP.
- Assist to conduct Cooperative Capacity Assessment and implement the action plan properly.
- Facilitate agro/non-agro based enterprises at HH level and Cooperative level.
- Assist to aggregate and marketing of agricultural products of cooperative.
- Maintain effective communication with market actors (buyer, seller, local traders, supper shop, private sectors etc.) to functional warehouse.
- Assist to explore business opportunities for cooperative and increase income of Cooperative.
- Meet SHGs regularly, visit participant’s households, observe field activities critically, identify operational and programmatic constraints and ensure remedial options in a participatory manner with the consultation of PC and Heifer program team.
- Organize animal health camp; ensure vaccination, de-worming and other technical services timely for improving livestock management linking Community Agro Veterinary.
Requirements
- Experience: At least 2 years
- Education: bachelor of science in agriculture
- Skills: non-profit program development, volunteer management, volunteer recruiting, program coordination, project co-ordination, community outreach, client co-ordination, community engagement & outreach
