Role Description

Synteone is looking for an experienced Technical Co-Founder to join us in building the next generation of digital products for Africa and beyond.

This is a full-time remote leadership role where you’ll work directly with the founder to define our technology strategy, product architecture, and engineering roadmap. You’ll lead the design, development, and scaling of web and mobile applications while making key technical decisions that support the company’s long-term growth.

The role includes building scalable software, selecting the right technologies, establishing engineering best practices, overseeing product development, and eventually recruiting and leading a high-performing engineering team. You’ll collaborate on product strategy, validate new ideas, solve complex technical challenges, and help transform innovative concepts into products used by businesses and individuals.

As a founding member of Synteone, you’ll have the opportunity to influence company strategy, culture, and the future direction of our technology platform.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience (5–10+ years preferred).

Strong experience building scalable web and mobile applications.

Solid knowledge of software architecture, APIs, cloud infrastructure, databases, DevOps, cybersecurity, and modern development frameworks.

Experience leading technical projects or engineering teams.

Ability to translate business ideas into scalable technical solutions.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with changing priorities.

Passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and building products that create real impact.

Previous startup or co-founder experience is an advantage but not required.
