Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Clinical Coordinator- Nursing and Allied Health: Veterinary Technician. The Clinical Coordinator- Clinical Coordinator- Nursing and Allied Health: Veterinary Technician is located in the Nursing and Allied Health. This is a full-time position for internal applicants only.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Education:
Master’s Degree of Accredited Veterinary Technology Program
Required Experience:
Possess a minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered veterinary technician or as an instructor in veterinary technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten years.
Possess teaching experience as an educator.
Have documented experience in educational theories and techniques
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and educational best practices.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Familiarity with accreditation processes and compliance standards in higher education.
Experience in online education or e-learning platforms.
Ethical/ legal principles and professionalism in the healthcare industry.
Job Concepts
Faculty position responsible for the administration, organization, and supervision of the clinical education component of the veterinary technology program. This role involves coordinating the clinical experiences of students, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of their education, and providing academic oversight to ensure that students achieve clinical competence. The Clinical Coordinator also serves as a liaison between the educational program and clinical sites, ensuring that all personnel involved in student instruction are properly oriented and trained.
Duties and Responsibilities:
25% Instructional Responsibilities:
Engage in didactic and laboratory instruction as needed, in addition to clinical instruction.
Offer direction and guidance to students and clinical instructors to optimize the learning experience.
20% Coordinate Clinical Education:
Manage and organize clinical education activities.
Oversee the scheduling and assignment of students to clinical sites.
20% Supervise Student Clinical Experience:
Provide administration and supervision for all student clinical experiences.
Ensure continuous quality review and improvement of student clinical experiences.
20% Evaluate and Document Clinical Performance:
Ensure the documentation of student evaluations and track progression toward clinical competence.
Develop and implement processes for evaluating student clinical performance.
5% Curriculum Assessment and Development:
Provide academic oversight for the clinical components of the program.
Participate in curriculum planning and development for the clinical education component.
5% Orientation and Training of Clinical Instructors:
Ensure that clinical instructors and site personnel are properly oriented to the program’s requirements.
Provide guidance and direction to clinical instructors in their roles.
5% Professional Development:
Pursue ongoing formal training to maintain and upgrade professional, instructional, and administrative capabilities.
