Position Overview
The Climbing Arborist Crew Lead directs crew members and equipment, planning and executing assigned work or tasks. The role involves climbing trees using various systems, leading a team in providing arboricultural care, and maintaining safety standards.
Job Duties
What You’ll Do:
Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Safely and effectively lead a crew in arboricultural tasks for clients.
Manage jobsite hazards, obstacles, planning, and equipment (H.O.P.E) process.
Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
Remove hazardous trees.
Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking for:
Love of the outdoors.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
Preferred:
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates.
Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.
