Overview
Our busy clinic is looking for a friendly, efficient person to work in our front office. This is a Part Time position for Monday, Thursday and Friday from 7:15 to closing at 5pm. The perfect candidate would be one who presents well to the public, has professional telephone manners, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The position requires commitment, multitasking and exceptional communication skills. A self-starting, team player is ideal. Occasional handling of animals is required. This Part-time position does not offer benefits or paid PTO. Experience is preferred but willing to train a motivated applicant.
Responsibilities
Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Schedule appointments, manage the calendar, and handle patient records efficiently.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, treatments, and pet care.
Assist in the intake process by gathering relevant information about pets’ medical histories.
Process payments and maintain accurate financial records for services rendered.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
Provide basic animal handling support during examinations or procedures as needed.
Skills
Strong knowledge of animal care principles and practices, including animal anatomy knowledge.
Experience with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff.
Familiarity with kennel operations and laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine.
Understanding of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during treatments.
Ability to assist in veterinary critical care situations when necessary.
Proficient in dog handling and training methods to support positive interactions with pets.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
