Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT) needed for Central PA female-owned independent veterinary hospital. NO evenings or weekends! University Drive Veterinary Hospital is a 2 doctor, client-centric hospital treating companion dogs and cats only. Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
- Prepare animals for surgery, including anesthesia induction and monitoring.
- Conduct X-rays and maintain imaging equipment
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry, nutrition, and care practices.
- Assist with animal catheterization and dental procedures when required
Qualifications
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program is required
- Experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, and animal care practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and pet owners.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners with a commitment to providing exceptional care.
