Iron Range Veterinary clinic is a privately owned primary care facility providing medical and surgical services to dogs, cats and equine in the heart of beautiful Brainerd Lakes Area. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-5:30 pm. with flexible scheduling and bonuses for optional emergency work.
Responsibilities:
– Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
– Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and laboratory tests
– Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
– Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
– Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
– Provide post-operative care and monitoring of animals
– Maintain accurate medical records for each animal
– Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
– Clean and sanitize examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment
Requirements:
– Certification as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent experience
– Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and animal husbandry
– Proficiency in handling dogs, cats, and equine.
– Familiarity with kennel operations and animal handling protocols
– Ability to perform animal catheterization and other medical procedures under veterinary supervision
– Excellent communication skills with both pet owners and veterinary staff
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Preferred Skills:
– Experience working with equine or small animals.
