Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary care and possess the skills necessary to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to animals. This role involves working closely with pets and their owners, ensuring a positive experience while delivering essential veterinary services.
Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples to aid in diagnosis.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure cleanliness and safety during procedures.
Provide animal restraint during examinations and treatments to ensure the safety of both staff and animals.
Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry, nutrition, and post-operative care.
Participate in pet grooming tasks as needed to maintain the health and hygiene of animals.
Monitor the condition of animals pre- and post-surgery or treatment, providing critical care when necessary.
Experience
Previous experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
Familiarity with veterinary terminology is essential for effective communication within the team.
Experience in veterinary critical care is a plus, particularly for those working with emergency cases.
Knowledge of animal catheterization techniques is beneficial for assisting in various medical procedures.
Proficiency in laboratory procedures related to animal health is an advantage.
Strong skills in animal husbandry practices are required to ensure the well-being of all patients.
