Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to our patients. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, animal handling skills, and a commitment to ensuring the well-being of animals in our care. We are a pain management focus practice, with minimal primary care responsibilities. We see appointments for pain management, acupuncture, physical rehabilitation and palliative care.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Perform animal catheterization and administer medications as directed.
Conduct rehabilitation exercises, including physical modalities.
Provide proper animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both the animals and staff.
Handle dogs and other animals with care, employing effective dog training techniques when necessary.
Monitor vital signs and provide veterinary critical care as needed.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using veterinary terminology.
Conduct X-ray procedures and assist in the interpretation of results.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Skills
Proficient in animal catheterization techniques.
Strong understanding of veterinary terminology relevant to veterinary practices.
Experience in dog and cat handling techniques.
Knowledge of animal restraint methods for safe handling during examinations or treatments.
Familiarity with veterinary critical care protocols.
Comprehensive knowledge of animal anatomy to assist in diagnostics and treatment planning.
Proficient in performing X-ray procedures with attention to safety protocols.
Strong command of veterinary terminology for effective communication within the team.

Pay: $22.46 – $32.00 per hour
