Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of veterinary practices and be passionate about providing high-quality care to animals. This role requires a blend of technical skills, animal handling expertise, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Utilize veterinary terminology accurately in both verbal and written communication.
Handle and restrain animals safely to ensure their comfort and safety during procedures.
Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and assist in imaging procedures.
Monitor anesthesia levels during surgeries and provide post-operative care.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment.
Experience
Candidates should have a background in veterinary technology or a related field. Preferred qualifications include:
Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy to assist with medical assessments.
Familiarity with animal husbandry practices to ensure optimal care for all animals.
Experience in dog handling and restraint techniques to facilitate safe interactions with various breeds.
Proficiency in using veterinary software for record keeping and scheduling appointments.
