Randolph Animal Hospital has an opportunity for a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team!
Location: 400 S Main St, Randolph, MA 02368
Veterinary Technician Compensation: $20 – $29/hour with annual bonus opportunities
Shift Details: 8-10 hour shifts (some shifts starting as early as 7:30 am some as late as 8pm), rotating Saturdays. Must have flexibility with schedule for some opening and closing shifts.

Paisley Paws, a non-profit veterinary entity, was founded to bridge the financial gap in the veterinary field. It awards grants to associated hospitals like ours, aiding families unable to afford critical veterinary care.
Additionally, we act as a temporary shelter for stray dogs and, at times, cats for animal control. We provide necessary medical care for these animals and, if unclaimed, collaborate with rescue groups to secure their permanent homes.
Our hospital offers a diverse array of treatments and modalities, including ultrasound and video otoscopy, among others.
We’ve also recently enhanced our laboratory capabilities by integrating an Imagyst, which provides various diagnostic applications such as AI-powered dermatology, fecal analysis, and blood smear evaluations.

Responsibilities:
Major Duties:
Our Veterinary Technicians are responsible for in-patient medical care- administer medications, assist or perform treatments, diagnostics & monitoring, place IV catheters, draw blood, run lab tests, administer IV fluids, cleaning, feeding, and walking patients as needed.
Anesthesia/Surgery – Our Veterinary Technician’s prep, induction, maintenance, monitoring, recovery of patients, cleans/maintains/sterilize anesthesia equipment and surgical instruments.
Dentistry- Our Veterinary Technician’s provide patient dental care, ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, assist doctor with dental surgery.
Radiology – Our Veterinary Technician’s position patients and assist with radiographs, sending radiographs via email.
Laboratory duties- Our Veterinary Technicians are responsible for collecting, preparing, & running or submitting samples for requested tests; reading and recording results when indicated (fecals, Urines, Ear cytology etc) when requested by doctor.
Preparing invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools
Client communication for hospitalized patients – give patient updates, discharge instructions, and provide follow up for certain hospital patients.
Client medical demonstrations / education – teach/educate clients on at home care procedures.
Veterinary Technician appointments- blood draws for therapeutic monitoring / screening tests, bandage changes, post-op checks, suture removals, AG, TNT.
Clinic technician- assisting doctor with outpatient appointments, preparing, restocking, cleaning exam room, check patients in and out, take history and vitals, input data into patient medical record, ensure a smooth and timely flow of outpatient appointments from check-in to discharge.
Assist with reception/front desk duties as needed- answering phones, booking appointments, admit/discharge patients.
Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
Assist with inventory control – informing inventory manager when products are getting low/out, unpacking, restocking drug & medical supplies.
Preparing prescriptions – dispensed medications & medication refills.
Qualifications:
Physical Requirements:
The veterinary technician must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with a coworker.
The veterinary technician must be able to endure sitting, standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods of time.
The veterinary technician must possess sufficient ambulatory skills to perform duties while in hospital environment.
The veterinary technician must be able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high.
The veterinary technician will be routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
The veterinary technician must have good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment.
Travel required: Minimal travel required, possibly for vendor visits and associate education.
