Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role involves assisting veterinarians in the examination, treatment, and care of animals, ensuring their health and well-being while delivering exceptional customer service to pet owners.
Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Monitor animal patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Provide education to pet owners regarding animal care and health maintenance.
Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
Prepare animals for surgery, including anesthesia administration and catheterization.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
Skills
Strong knowledge of animal care principles and practices.
Familiarity with animal anatomy, veterinary terminology, and dental terminology.
Proficient in animal handling techniques for various species, including equine.
Experience in dog training is a plus.
Ability to perform animal catheterization procedures effectively.
Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and team members.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
