Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Certified Medical Coder role based in Faisalabad. The Certified Medical Coder will review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services according to established guidelines and payer policies. Day-to-day responsibilities include verifying medical records for completeness, ensuring compliance with regulatory and coding standards, and supporting clean claim submission to minimize denials. The role involves working closely with physicians, billing teams, and other healthcare staff to clarify documentation, resolve coding queries, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes and reimbursement rules. The Certified Medical Coder will also contribute to internal audits, quality improvement initiatives, and training efforts related to coding and documentation best practices.
Qualifications
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent) and strong knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and common clinical procedures.
- Experience with healthcare billing processes, insurance payer rules, and claims submission workflows.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing or coding software.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and accuracy in reviewing and coding medical documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with clinical and administrative teams.
- Ability to work on-site in Faisalabad, manage time effectively, and handle confidential patient information responsibly.
- Prior experience in hospital or clinic-based coding is preferred; familiarity with local and international coding standards is a plus.
