Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Certified Reactivity/Aggression Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for assessing, managing, and de-escalating reactive and aggressive behaviors across diverse settings. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals exhibiting reactive or aggressive behaviors to identify triggers and develop tailored intervention plans
- Implement evidence-based de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations safely and effectively
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and behavioral strategies for clients or patients
- Maintain detailed documentation of interventions, behaviors observed, and progress notes in compliance with organizational standards
- Provide training and support to staff members on recognizing warning signs of aggression and applying appropriate intervention methods
- Educate clients or individuals on coping mechanisms and behavioral regulation strategies to promote long-term stability
- Stay current with the latest research, certifications, and best practices in reactivity and aggression management to continuously enhance skills
Veterinary & Professional Collaboration
- Identify when veterinary evaluation or psychopharmacological support from a vet is indicated and communicate this to clients confidently
- Build and maintain referral relationships with veterinarians, veterinary behaviorists, shelters, and allied professionals
- Collaborate with Noble Woof’s veterinary network when cases require medical partnership
Possible Other Dog Trainer services
- Manage Dog Day Training independently training multiple dogs, facilitating safe play, conducting client meetings, and handling all facility responsibilities
- Lead and assist group classes and delegate effectively to assistant trainers when you are the lead
- Contribute to Puppy programs including our drop-off Puppy Playschool program as needed
Team Contribution
- Contribute behavioral expertise to team development — cross-training Dog Trainers on behavior concepts and referral indicators
- Participate in case discussions and collaborative problem-solving across the team
- Support Noble Woof’s professional reputation through your work, referrals, and community presence
Requirements
- CDBC or CBCC-KA required
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience working with behavior modification cases specifically fear, reactivity, and aggression
- Advanced understanding of learning theory, behavior modification, canine body language, and stress signals
- Familiarity with the role of psychopharmacology in behavior modification and when to recommend veterinary evaluation
- Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments and manage client communication around safety
- Proven experience working in environments such as healthcare, behavioral health, or related fields with a focus on managing aggression or reactivity
- Strong knowledge of behavioral assessment tools, de-escalation techniques, and crisis intervention strategies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and foster trust with clients and team members
- Ability to handle physically demanding situations involving heavy lifting or restraint procedures when necessary
- Familiarity with safety protocols, documentation standards, and confidentiality regulations
- A proactive attitude with a passion for helping others achieve emotional regulation and safety

Bonus Experience
- Experience with Acuity Scheduling software and/or Gingr
- Familiarity with Slack and Google Drive for team communication and documentation
- Background in human teaching, coaching, or adult education — in any field — is genuinely valued here
Requirements for All Applicants
- Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required
- Proof of current personal auto insurance required
- As our trainers work one-on-one with clients in their homes, a comprehensive background check (including criminal history and driving record) is required for this position. This check will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment is made.
- Reliable personal computer required for documentation, client communication, and video review
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay rate varies by activity type (private consulting, group class, playschool, and other programming each have separate bands)
- There is a 90 day probationary period with a separate pay rate that will change after those 90 days are completed
