Certified Arborist to inventory trees Jobs in Chicago, Illinois, USA at International Society of Arboriculture
Location: Chicago, IL
Salary: Negotiable upon experience.
Job Duties:
Identify and measure tree species typical to the Chicago region.
Understand their typical growth rates and recognize indicators of common diseases and pest infestations.
Prescribe appropriate tree work needed to mitigate risk.
Utilize friendly in-house GPS software.
Work outdoors in a wide variety of weather conditions.
Qualifications:
Two to four year degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Environmental Science, Plant Biology, or related discipline, or equivalent experience in similar positions desired.
Current Driver’s License and Driving Record in good standing.
Urban forestry experience preferred.
Proficient working knowledge of computers, including Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
ISA Certification.
5 years of experience; education can count toward experience.
Additional Information:
Daily assessing trees in the city by vehicle.
