Cat Intake & Medical Standards Coordinator

Position Summary
Sydney’s Cat Lounge is seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Cat Intake & Medical Standards Coordinator to support the health, welfare, and ongoing medical oversight for our rescue cats. This role is critical to maintaining consistent, high-quality intake procedures, medical documentation, and veterinary compliance across the lounge.
This position is ideal for a veterinary technician or experienced animal care professional who is passionate about rescue work, proactive health monitoring, and creating clear, enforceable standards for feline intake and care.
Key Responsibilities
Cat Intake & Medical Administration
· Coordinate and assist with the intake of rescue cats into the lounge
· Review, organize, and maintain feline medical records, vaccination histories, and treatment documentation via Shelterluv
· Ensure all incoming cats meet established intake and health requirements prior to lounge integration
· Monitor cats daily for signs of illness, stress, or behavioral concerns and promptly escalate issues to management
· Accurately log medical observations, treatments, and updates in accordance with internal protocols
· May assist with transporting cats to and from veterinary appointments, rescue partners, or approved facilities as needed
· Support compliance with rescue partner requirements and veterinary recommendations
Standards, Policies & Veterinary Coordination
· Assist in developing, refining, and maintaining intake standards, medical protocols, and veterinary policies
· Help ensure consistency in how medical directives and care plans are followed by staff
· Serve as a resource for staff regarding feline health indicators, medical instructions, and welfare best practices
· Communicate effectively with management regarding trends, concerns, or needed policy updates
Guest & Team Support
· Support a calm, clean, and safe environment for both cats and guests
· Collaborate with staff to uphold animal welfare standards at all times
· Provide informed, professional communication to guests regarding general cat care and welfare
Qualifications
· Prior experience working with cats required
· Must have experience with Shelterluv
· Veterinary technician experience or formal animal care training strongly preferred
· Comfortable handling cats of varying temperaments and medical needs
· Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
· Ability to handle sensitive medical information with discretion and professionalism
· Confident multitasker able to balance hands-on care, administrative duties, and guest interaction
· Must be at least 21 years old
· Able to work evenings and weekends as needed
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
· Must live within a 15 mile radius

Compensation
· $18–$22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
