This role at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital creates a casual list of Kennel/Barn Assistants to work when needed across all animal care activities. Candidates should expect varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, contributing to both Small and Large Animal Hospital operations. Your support is essential for maintaining excellent animal husbandry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform cleaning and disinfection of areas and equipment
• Assist in restocking food and supplies
• Prepare and maintain kennels for patients
• Follow proper feeding instructions for animals
• Aid in animal handling during examinations and treatments
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
• Experience in animal care desirable
• Certification in Veterinary Assistance a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift weights up to 25kg
