Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. You will be responsible for assisting with a variety of clinical procedures, ensuring the well-being of our patients, and delivering exceptional client service. Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Implement aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment during procedures.
Provide animal restraint during examinations and treatments to ensure safety for both staff and animals.
Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry and care practices.
Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any changes to the veterinarian.
Handle dogs and other animals with care, ensuring their comfort throughout their visit.
Participate in inventory management of medical supplies and equipment.
Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
Proficiency in aseptic technique to maintain sterile conditions during procedures.
Strong understanding of animal husbandry practices.
Experience with equine care is a plus.
Knowledge of animal catheterization techniques.
Ability to effectively restrain animals for examinations or treatments.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary medicine.
Competence in dog handling techniques to ensure safe interactions.
Passion for pet care and dedication to improving animal health.
Understanding of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively within the team.
Overall knowledge of veterinary practices and protocols.
