Kennel Assistant
Duties:
– Provide exceptional customer service to pet owners and visitors
– Assist with the daily care and maintenance of animals in the kennel
– Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
– Clean kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a clean and sanitary environment
– Administer medications as directed
– Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
– Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
– Handle animals safely and securely during check-ins, check-outs, and transfers
-The ideal candidate will enjoy engaging with clients and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to build positive relationships.
-The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. They should stay self-motivated, effectively manage their time, and confidently prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
Experience:
– Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required
– Ability to handle heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) when necessary
– Strong communication skills and ability to interact with pet owners in a professional manner
– Basic knowledge of animal behavior and care practices
