Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Specialist to join our team. As a Canine Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our furry friends. The ideal candidate will have experience in animal care, pet care, and customer service, with a strong passion for animals and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
Duties:
– Assist in the daily care and management of animals, including feeding, cleaning, and providing fresh water.
– Provide medication to pets that require it.
– Maintain a clean and organized kennel environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of all animals.
– Perform heavy lifting and pet grooming duties as needed.
– Manage and monitor play groups for daycare and group play boarding.
– Take Individual Care dogs out for their play sessions.
– Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions, and addressing concerns from clients.
– Monitor animal behavior and health and alert management to any changes or concerns.
– Maintain accurate and detailed records of animal care, including administered medications, feeding schedules, and behavioral observations.
Qualifications:
-Must be 18 or older.
– High school diploma or equivalent required.
– Experience in animal care, pet care, or veterinary assistance preferred.
– Strong knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques preferred.
– Ability to lift heavy objects (30+lbs) and perform physical tasks for extended periods
– Must be able to handle large dogs.
– Must be able to tolerate being on your feet for long periods of time and tolerate heat and cold weather.
– Excellent communication and customer service skills.
– Compassionate and empathetic towards animals.
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
– Willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances and procedures.
