Speaking Dog Is Ruff is looking for a reliable, motivated, animal-loving individual to join our team as a Paid Canine Behavior Specialist Apprentice!
This is a learning position designed for someone interested in pursuing a career in canine behavior. You’ll receive hands-on experience, mentorship, and structured education while working toward a Canine Behavior Specialist certification through our apprenticeship program.

Speaking Dog Is Ruff specializes in canine behavior and behavior modification, including working with dogs who display aggression, fear, reactivity, and other challenging behaviors.
Because of this, applicants must be comfortable working around dogs with aggression issues and understand that this position can involve safely working with dogs who may present a bite risk.
We also work with cats and other animal behavior cases, so being comfortable working with and handling cats is a requirement for this position.
This is not a position for someone who only wants to work with puppies or friendly dogs. You must be willing to learn how to safely and professionally work with animals displaying a wide range of behaviors.

You’ll work alongside an experienced behavior professional and gradually take on more responsibility as your knowledge and skills develop.

Previous professional experience is not required. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, work ethic, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
This is not simply a “play with animals” job. Behavior work requires observation, critical thinking, communication, patience, safety awareness, and a willingness to continually learn.
