We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of animal behavior and training techniques, with the ability to work effectively with dogs of all breeds and temperaments. This role involves training dogs in obedience, agility, and specialized skills while also providing guidance to pet owners on effective training methods. Duties
Develop and implement training programs tailored to individual dog needs.
Conduct one-on-one training sessions with dogs and their owners.
Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors.
Assess dog behavior and provide feedback to owners on progress.
Maintain a safe and clean training environment for both dogs and clients.
Provide education on proper pet care, grooming, and health considerations.
Assist in managing group classes, ensuring all participants are engaged and learning effectively.
Experience
Previous experience in dog training is required.
Skills in heavy lifting may be required for handling larger breeds or equipment.
Familiarity with animal restraint techniques is beneficial for safety during training sessions.
Strong customer service skills are essential for interacting with pet owners effectively.
Experience in pet grooming, veterinary technician roles, kennel management, equine care, or pet sitting will be considered an asset.
