Canine Behavior Specialist Jobs in Remote at Next-Door K9 Solutions of Clarksville
Job Responsibilities Dog Training Duties (Primary Role)
Conduct private and group training sessions tailored to each dog’s needs
Teach basic obedience commands (sit, stay, down, come, heel, leave it, etc.)
Train advanced obedience skills, including off-leash recall, impulse control, and complex commands
Work on behavior modification, addressing issues like leash pulling, jumping, barking, and reactivity
Implement socialization training to ensure dogs interact safely with other animals and people
Develop customized training plans for each dog based on their temperament and learning style
Educate dog owners on reinforcing training at home for long-term success
Utilize positive reinforcement methods and effective training techniques
Track progress, keep detailed records, and provide owners with regular feedback
Boarding & Dog Care Responsibilities (As Needed)
Ensure a safe, clean, and enriching environment for boarding dogs
Follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and exercise routines
Engage dogs in structured play, enrichment activities, and reinforcement training
Monitor behavior and well-being, reporting concerns to the owner or veterinarian if necessary
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and play areas
Requirements:
Proven experience in dog training, obedience instruction, or animal behavior
Ability to work with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
Strong understanding of learning theory, canine behavior, and positive reinforcement training
Excellent communication skills for educating owners and leading training sessions
Patience, problem-solving skills, and a passion for working with animals
Ability to handle multiple dogs at once in a controlled setting
Certification in dog training (CPDT-KA, ABCDT, or equivalent) preferred but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $3,500.00 – $7,000.00 per month
Compensation Package:
1099 contract
