The Business Head – Oil, Feed & Water will provide overall strategic, commercial, and operational leadership for Noble Eagle Industries Limited’s Edible Oil, Animal Feed, and Bottled Water businesses.
The role will be responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, profitability, market expansion, operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction across the three business lines.
The Business Head will translate the Group’s strategic objectives into clear business plans and ensure effective coordination across Sales, Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Quality, and Operations. The role will have a strong focus on commercial growth, capacity utilisation, cost optimisation, route-to-market effectiveness, working capital discipline, and building competitive market positions for each product category.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Business Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute integrated business strategies for the Oil, Feed, and Water businesses.
- Establish clear annual and medium-term revenue, profitability, market share, and growth objectives.
- Translate Group strategy into actionable business plans for each product category.
- Identify new markets, customer segments, products, and commercial opportunities.
- Lead the overall performance of the three business lines and ensure accountability for agreed targets.
- Regularly review business performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Provide strategic recommendations to Group Management on business expansion, investment, and growth opportunities.
2. Revenue & Commercial Growth
- Drive revenue growth across Oil, Animal Feed, and Water.
- Develop category-specific sales and go-to-market strategies.
- Identify opportunities to increase market penetration and customer acquisition.
- Strengthen distribution coverage across priority markets.
- Develop strategies for General Trade, Modern Trade, distributors, wholesalers, institutional customers, and other relevant channels.
- Monitor sales performance by product, territory, channel, customer, and distributor.
- Identify underperforming markets and develop recovery plans.
- Drive customer retention, volume growth, and account development.
3. Profitability & P&L Management
- Take overall responsibility for the financial performance of the three business lines.
- Manage revenue, gross margins, operating costs, and profitability.
- Develop and manage annual business budgets.
- Monitor product and customer profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins through pricing, product mix, procurement, production efficiency, and cost management.
- Ensure commercial decisions balance revenue growth with sustainable profitability.
- Monitor and manage working capital requirements in collaboration with Finance.
4. Sales & Route-to-Market
- Develop and optimise route-to-market strategies for each business.
- Establish appropriate distributor and channel structures.
- Evaluate distributor performance, coverage, financial capacity, and market effectiveness.
- Strengthen market penetration and distribution of Oil, Feed, and Water products.
- Develop appropriate sales targets, territories, customer segmentation, and incentive structures.
- Ensure sales teams have the tools, resources, and capability required to deliver targets.
- Monitor primary and secondary sales where applicable.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales-force productivity and market execution.
5. Production & Capacity Management
- Work closely with Factory/Production Managers to align production with market demand.
- Ensure production capacity is effectively utilised.
- Develop production priorities based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, customer requirements, and business priorities.
- Monitor production efficiency, yield, downtime, and production costs.
- Ensure production constraints are identified and resolved promptly.
- Coordinate the introduction of new products and production capacity where required.
- Balance inventory availability with demand and working capital considerations.
6. Supply Chain & Procurement
- Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure consistent availability of raw materials and packaging materials.
- Monitor supply risks that could affect production or customer fulfilment.
- Support strategic sourcing and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained across the three businesses.
- Monitor logistics and distribution costs.
- Identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce cost-to-serve.
7. Product & Portfolio Management
- Monitor the performance of each product and SKU within the portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to improve product mix and contribution margins.
- Recommend new product development based on market demand and commercial opportunities.
- Develop strategies for product launches and market penetration.
- Identify slow-moving or low-margin products and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Work with Marketing and Technical/Quality teams to strengthen product positioning and competitiveness.
8. Market Intelligence & Competitive Strategy
- Monitor market trends, customer preferences, competitor activity, and pricing.
- Track developments in the edible oil, animal feed, and bottled water markets.
- Conduct regular competitor and market analysis.
- Identify threats and opportunities across the three categories.
- Recommend appropriate pricing, product, distribution, and promotional responses.
- Maintain strong understanding of the markets in which Noble Eagle operates.
9. Brand & Customer Development
- Work with Marketing to strengthen the positioning and visibility of the Company’s brands.
- Develop customer and market engagement strategies.
- Build relationships with major distributors, retailers, institutional customers, and strategic accounts.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and market feedback.
- Ensure customer insights are translated into business and product improvements.
10. Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure products meet applicable quality and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance, Regulatory, and Production teams to maintain product quality.
- Ensure appropriate quality standards are maintained across Oil, Feed, and Water operations.
- Ensure regulatory and certification requirements applicable to each product category are met.
- Ensure customer complaints and quality incidents are investigated and resolved promptly.
- Promote a strong culture of quality, compliance, and accountability.
11. People Leadership
- Lead and develop high-performing teams across the three business lines.
- Set clear objectives and performance expectations for direct reports.
- Hold business leaders and managers accountable for results.
- Identify capability gaps and implement appropriate development initiatives.
- Build a performance-driven culture across Sales, Operations, Production, and support functions.
- Develop succession plans for critical positions.
- Promote collaboration across the different business units.
12. Business Performance Management
- Establish appropriate business KPIs across Oil, Feed, and Water.
- Develop regular management reports covering financial, commercial, operational, and market performance.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews.
- Identify performance gaps and ensure timely corrective action.
- Use data and business intelligence to drive decision-making.
- Ensure business plans are translated into measurable operational outcomes.
13. Risk Management
- Identify and manage key commercial, operational, supply chain, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks.
- Develop mitigation plans for major business risks.
- Ensure appropriate controls are implemented across the business.
- Escalate material risks to Group Management promptly.
- Ensure business continuity plans are maintained for critical operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- 10–15 years of progressive experience, with significant experience in senior commercial/business leadership roles.
- Strong experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, agribusiness, consumer goods, or related manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing multiple product categories or business units is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing a P&L and delivering revenue and profitability growth.
- Strong knowledge of sales, distribution, route-to-market, manufacturing, and supply chain.
- Experience in at least two of the following sectors would be highly advantageous: Edible oil, Animal feed, Bottled water, FMCG, Food processing, Agribusiness
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and manufacturing operations.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of the Nigerian consumer and distribution market.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
