About the Role & Purpose
A Business Development Officer drives new business acquisition, onboard clients onto medical aid and healthcare solutions, and build long-term client relationships.
This role is responsible for achieving sales targets, growing the client base, and providing exceptional advisory services to both individual and corporate clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding our healthcare business while ensuring clients receive solutions that meet their healthcare and financial needs.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the medical aid and healthcare market.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, and proactive prospecting activities.
- Conduct client needs analyses and recommend appropriate healthcare solutions.
- Achieve and exceed sales and business growth targets.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and manage opportunities effectively.
Client Onboarding & Advisory Services
- Guide clients through the end-to-end enrolment process for medical aid and related healthcare products.
- Liaise with medical schemes and administrators to facilitate seamless onboarding.
- Educate clients on available plans, benefits, exclusions, contributions, and product features.
- Ensure accurate and compliant completion of all onboarding documentation.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on medical aid and healthcare solutions.
- Conduct regular client reviews to ensure products remain aligned with client needs.
- Provide ongoing support to enhance client satisfaction and retention.
Qualifications
- Preferred – Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales.
- Experience within medical aid, insurance, healthcare, or financial services environments.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
