Job Summary

The Breeder Operations Manager oversees planning, directing, and controlling of all breeding

farms to produce the hatching eggs required for internal production. The Breeder Operations

Manager strategically coordinates overall production of hatching eggs and day-old chicks. This

position oversees both production of both internal and contract breeder farms and manages

relationship with contract breeder farms.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensures all breeders and hatching eggs are produced in accordance with the volume and

time commitments and specified quality standard at minimum cost.

2. Directs the operation of all grow-out and breeder farms to generate a maximum profit for the

company through the institution of proper controls, schedules, and work methods.

3. Supervises the activities of the production sections towards development of improved

services, better products, and efficient operational system and production procedures.

4. Analyzes production methods and procedures, recommends efficient major changes to

maintain excellent quality services and products, maximize production facilities and

resources, minimize safety hazards, lessen wastages or losses and lower costs.

5. Manages maintenance, housekeeping and repair of the breeder facilities, machines,

equipment, and vehicles.

6. Recommends improvements in the facilities, equipment, and proper idle land usage.

7. Conducts periodic performance evaluation of production against approved plans, forecasts,

and budgets.

8. Formulates, recommends, and implements corrective and preventive measures to achieve

objectives.

9. Establishes objectives of all the production sections and directs operations toward the

achievement of the company's overall objectives.

10. Evaluates and reports to the QPLC Top Management periodically on the performance of the

Department.

11. Recommends improvements and implements changes in the organizational structure of the

department to achieve better results in production.

12. Recommends and implements interfunctional standard operating procedures and guidelines

to all production sections.

13. Resolves conflicts, provides a sound decision, recommends action plan, and coordinates

activities of all the production sections.

14. Recommends and approves hiring, employee transfer, disciplinary action, staff development,

and other administrative tasks in the department.

15. Approves requisition for supplies, job and work orders, and petty cash expenditures of the

Department.

16. Reviews and recommends operational expenses of the department.

17. Conducts meetings (regular and operational exigency) with the production section heads to

discuss activities, thresh out problems, and coordination of activities.

18. Ensures all relationships of stakeholders (management and contract breeder partners) are

managed professionally and strategically.

19. Does stretch assignments as recommended by the President and performs all duties required

to managerial positions.

Periodical responsibilities:

● Write monthly Mancom Meeting Reports

● Submit monthly overall farm operations status report for all Breeder farms including

contract-based farms (CBF)

● Consolidate yearly PS Placement Plan

Position Requirements

A. Work Experience

With minimum of 7 years work-related experience

B. Education

College graduate of any Veterinary Medicine or Animal Husbandry

E. Work Environment

 Has an ability to work in extreme weather; farm-field based.

 Amenable to work on Breeder Farm and Hatchery Plant setting.

F. Physical Demands

Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions.

G. Hours of Work

No specific or strict time (Field Operations Time) – must submit itinerary.

H. Travel Requirements

 Requires travel for meetings, seminars, training and field work.

 Provided with a service vehicle for work related-purposes.
